I LOVE NEW WORK

Fall exchange exhibition at Cooper Union.
First time I painted, first time I tried 'big' and 'colour'. Relates to my Scribble Art, in that it also wants to capture essential features of observations and encounters.

Walk the Doig

Peter Doig at the Tate Britain.

Definitely worth seeing though I think his work is weirdly inconsistent; some of his work I really like and some I hate. His work was also exhibited at 'the painting of modern life' at the Hayward Gallery recently. Here are scans from the exhibition pamphlet (excuse the low quality).
I like:

Lapeyrouse Wall, 2004

Music of the future, 2002-7

Jetty, 1994

The house that Jacques built, 1992

Ski Jacket, 1994

Concrete Cabin II, 1992

I Don't like:

Milky Way, 1989-90

Metropolitain, 2003

Gasthof zur Muldentalsperre, 2000-2

Country Rock, 1998-9

2 Glasses of Water

I spent all of yesterday experimenting with an animation method I had been thinking about for a while: painting directly onto the scanner glass and then scan each frame. Really exciting.
