I spent all of yesterday experimenting with an animation method I had been thinking about for a while: painting directly onto the scanner glass and then scan each frame. Really exciting.

That's very, very nice Becker.
Katinka Mason did some interesting work with a scanner replacing a camera to take images of flowers - though I guess the spooky depth of field she achieves is the opposite of your use of the flat p(l)ane of glass.
